Solo Pezo by Pezo Von Ellrichshausen Architects
Located in Catalonia, Spain, this three storey high concrete structure is placed on the slope of the hill overlooking the beautiful surrounding valleys. Supported by a smaller structure, the design creates a sense of floating platform as seen in the first image.
The concrete facades were made using wooden form works, thus giving texture to the monochromatic material.
The first floor is illuminated by the sunlight refracting from the swimming pool while the third floor is very open with the swimming pool in the middle. The wall around the swimming pool is tiled to to provide shade from the mediterranean heat as that space is not roofed, allowing the sky to reflect on the water surface.
